Childcare level 6 Progression to a degree:

Level 6 can progress to YEAR 2 of LIT (Ennis campus) BA degree in Early Childhood Education and Care LC613 or LC603.
LIT Early Childhood Education & Care students go on work placement in September – semester 1 of year 2. ECFE students who are seeking Direct Entry to Year 2 this year will need to complete garda vetting and references in May/June through LIT to ensure they can start a placement in week 1 September. This timing will allow LIT to send all necessary documentation to placement sites. Contact LIT Admissions Officer, Anne O’Donovan for further details.
You don’t apply through CAO. All you have to do is complete and submit an ‘Undergraduate Advanced Entry’ Application Form. This can be found on the LIT website www.lit.ie, click on Admissions, and then on Documents & Forms. It’s better to save the document first, and that way it opens much faster. If anybody has any problems accessing the form, contact admissions and they can post out a hard copy. The Closing Date for receipt of Advanced Entry Applications is 1st May. You probably won’t have your Level 6 results by then, but not to worry, just submit your forms in any case. You will get an offer subject to results, so you can then send in results to LIT once they are available.
If you have any queries on this, contact Anne O’Donovan or the Admissions Office at any time.
