aim of the course
The course will provide progression from level 5 to an Advanced Certificate in Childcare at level 6 with a focus on supervision and management of childcare facilities.

entry requirements
Applicants must have completed the QQI level 5 Childcare. The learner must be Garda vetted to avail of college facilities.
Sample course content
Participants will study a combination of 8 modules to meet the programme requirements including:
- Child Development
- Early Childhood Curriculum
- Childhood Social Legal and Health Studies
- Work Experience
- Communications
- Word Processing (level 5)
- Childhood Social Legal and Health Studies
- Supervision in Early Childhood Care
- Equality and Diversity in Childcare
Students are required to gain work experience in a relevant sector and to establish contact with prospective employers. (120 hours/16 days.)
duration
One year from September to May. Approximately 20 hours’ class contact plus computer lab time.
